Y Lliwedd routeY Lliwedd is a mountain, on the Eastern arm of the semicircle of peaks with Snowdon in the centre and Crib Goch to the west (the ‘Snowdon horseshoe). Its summit lies 2,946 ft above sea level. The eastern flanks are steep cliffs rising above Glaslyn and Llyn Llydaw, with precipitous drops and fabulous views in clear weather. Climbers can often be spotted attempting the cliff ascents. It should take about 3 ½ hours to ascend for fit people. Those not ready for lengthy vertical scrambles, exposed high places and strenous hiking should not attempt this route.
