Touring Suggestions
Some of you are local, whilst others will be coming from the far side of the world. If you have time, we thoroughly recommend taking the opportunity to explore some of our favourite places or recommendations below.
Wales
- Glydderau range to the North of the Snowdon massif, with the Castle of the Winds, Mt Tryfan and more
- Conwy – a walled medieval city with a fabulous castle
- Caernarfon – as above, but even better
- Portmeirion – an art deco town created entirely for parties, it seems. Music festivals and more are held here.
- Betws Y Coed with Zip World Forest, a fun aerial ropes course, and underground zip lining is also near here, as are tours of massive slate caverns

UK
- Brighton – seaside veg mecca with a pier with floating funpark, historic ‘lanes’, a bizarre palace and much more – only 1 hr by train from London
- Oxford – city of dreaming spires
- Cambridge – as above, but with a slightly better University (or not, as some have argued – for centuries…!)
- London – one of the world’s greatest cities, with attractions galore. Definitely take the commuter ferry from the London Eye to Greenwich, explore, and return by underground. And don’t miss Camden Market!
- Edinburgh – a spectacular medieval city
- Northern Scotland – wild and spectacular
- Channel Islands – beautiful, rugged coastal hiking and 3 historical sets of fortifications: iron age, medieval (castles – some naturally accessible only at low tide!) and massive WWII bunkers – the only area of the UK occupied by the nazis and heavily fortified by them
Europe
- Venice!
- The Alps – Chamonix is a perfect base
- Paris
- Mallorca and the Balearic Islands
Needless to say, there is so much more to see. Let us know if you need advice 🙂
